from Embroidery Library http://www.emblibrary.com
I have listed the original size of the designs.
I now have all the split designs listed AND an information page to go along with
each design. Just click on the name to be taken to a page with information
about the split.
HOW
TO ORDER
To order
these split designs and get them to you faster and easier,
please do the following after you buy the original sized design (not resized) from Embroidery Library:
1.
Click on design names (below) to be taken to new page for each design.
2. Fill out
one Splits Confirmation Form
for all of the split designs you are ordering. Confirmation Form link is on each
page.
3.
Send me 1 payment for all split
designs ordered.
If you
follow these instructions and as soon as I have your order confirmed with
Embroidery Library, I can send you the split files right away as zipped files
attached to email messages.
Price range
for my split is $6.50-$25.00 Some are even FREE after you buy the design from
Embroidery Library.

Frequently
Asked Questions (FAQs)
1. I
bought a big hoop for my machine. Why don't the designs fit it?
Even though
you have a bigger hoop, you are still limited to what your machine can stitch
out at one time. After you have reached the limit of your machine, you
must put your hoop into a new position or rehoop. Some of the Embroidery
Library designs are wider than most of the home embroidery machine hoops - even
the "big" hoops.
The outside
measurement of your hoop is not the area you can stitch. All
hoops have an area inside the hoop that the machines can stitch. This is
usually listed in millimeters. Some examples:
150 mm x 240
mm = Viking Designer 1
160 mm x 260
mm = Brother ULT machines
If you don't
know your stitching area, be sure to look in your documentation for that
information.
2.
What is a split design?
Any design
that is divided up into parts is called a split design. Some of them are
very simple and some are very complex. It just depends on the design and
the hoop that it is being split for.
3. How
do I know which colors to use for my design?
Thread
colors are a personal choice. Each person has their own favorite brand and
content. Some like polyester over rayon. Some like Sulky over
Madeira. Embroidery Library lists their threads using the Madeira rayon
colors. I use Embird to split my designs and since that program is much
better for listing thread colors, I now color the designs with the colors that
Embroidery Library uses for their designs. Some colors are divided
up. When the designs are converted to different formats, those colors may
not stay the same. If you ever want the Embird EDR files for those that I
have colored, just let me know and I can send those to you. Again, the
colors you use are your choice.
4. I
don't see the designs I want listed on your site. Can I just pay you to
split them for me?
Many of
these splits can take many hours/days to accomplish. I don't know how much
I am going to charge. It will depend on the work involved. I can give you
an idea of what my fee might be but this is only an estimate and will depend
entirely on how easy or hard the design is to split. Just like each design
is uniquely different, each split design is also unique. Please don't send
me a payment and just guess. If you see designs that aren't on my list,
write to me about which designs you are interested in. Be sure to list the
design names and their sizes. I can give you an estimate of the cost and
the time it will take to get the split to you. This can be a
time-consuming process so please don't expect to get the design split in a day.
5. Why
can't you send me the split right away?
I have been
working with Embroidery Library for a few years now on these designs. These
designs are THEIR designs and I divide them up for you. For me to sell you the
split designs, I must make sure that you bought it from Embroidery Library
first. The fees that I charge are for my splitting service only.
After I confirm your purchases of the designs, then I can sell you the splits of
the designs. All of this process of confirming takes some time.
Please be patient as we work together to get you the designs. There are
often some extra questions that need to be answered and this takes time.
The best way to get your designs quickly is to always send me complete
information. I need your name, postal address, your email address,
Embroidery Library order numbers and design names and you should always let me
know which machine and hoop size you want for the splits. I WANT you to
get the designs just as soon as possible.
Embroidery
Library is not in their office over the weekends so please get your confirmation
requests in by early Friday afternoon if at all possible. Otherwise, the
confirmation won't happen until the next week.
6. I
see that you split the design I want but I don't see it in my machine and hoop
size. Can I just make it work by reducing it?
No.
This is not a good idea. I split the designs based on the limitations of
your machine and hoop size. If you buy the split for a different machine
and hoop size that is different than yours, I can't say what will happen to the
design. I split these specifically for your size. If you are not
sure if it will work for you, ask me first before you buy the
design.
Some of
the designs will work if you have a LARGER
hoop. So if you want to get a split that is done for the 130 x 180 mm
hoop, this will work in a larger hoop like the 160 x 260 mm hoop. It
doesn't work if you go with a smaller hoop though. Always ask me first if
you are not sure.
7. Why
can't I download the designs? Where are they?
I send the
designs as email attachments. They are in Zip files and you will need to
be able to unzip them. I do not have automatic downloads for any of my
split designs.
8. I
want to pay with PayPal. I changed my email address and now you haven't
sent my designs. Where are they?
When you
change your address, please go to the PayPal site and make your email address
changes there. I reply to the messages and if it has the wrong address,
the messages can't get to you. PayPal has a toll-free number to call if
you can't figure out how to change it on their site. Also, when you notify
me of your new address, tell me both your new AND your old address so I can find
it easily.
9. Do
I need any software to do these designs?
You will need software that will print off the parts
of the design to fit your hoop size.
10. I
don't understand how to do split designs. I have never done one
before. Can you help me?

11.
How do your split designs work? I need instructions.
All of my
split designs include instructions on how to put them back together. Many
of them also include pictures to help you get an accurate stitchout. If
you have questions, ask me about it or consider buying my video. I want
you to succeed. My split designs also include my special alignment
stitches. These are stitches at the beginning of each rehooped design
section. You don't stitch them out - they are just there to help you get
you design accurately placed.
12.
What stabilizer should I use?
This is a
personal preference question. Be sure to test stitch each design with the
stabilizer and fabric you will be using for your final product. I like to
use a HEAVY cutaway for these large designs. I like the America Sews brand
from Viking dealers. I start out with enough for my entire project rather
than try to add new pieces of stabilizer as I go along. If I get to a
difficult spot, I may add another layer of medium tearaway that I slide under
the hoop. When I start my designs, I hoop both the stabilizer and the
fabric together to get a strong and stable environment for the stitching.
Don't stretch your fabric. Just make it smooth and flat.

Why is it that my software says that a design is corrupt when the design has
over 99 colors? I know the design isn't bad.
Some
software packages just can't handle that many color stops. The software
thinks that it must be an error and either won't open the design or it will make
all the colors past the 99 limit all the same color - usually black. The
designs are fine. It is a limitation in the software. I make the
splits so that they will work with your machine and software
limitations.

What format should I order for the designs?
I like to
get the DST format. This is the format that Embroidery Library uses for
their digitizing. It is a commercial format. Even if you get a
different format, the colors may not be "colorized" for your
format. Since I am going to be dividing them up and many of the machines
recognize the DST format, I buy them in this format. After I have split
the designs, I save in either DST or HUS. Then I convert to the different
formats needed including ART for the Artista machines.
15. Is
there any way I can tell which designs will work best for my hoop size? I
have a small 4x4 inch (100 x 100 mm) hoop.
It would be
easier if you looked for designs that have smaller fill areas. Some of the
large fills just do not divide up easily for the smaller hoops. Those long
horizontal rows of stitches that are frequently used for the sky or water often
times will not divide properly for the smaller hoops. Look for designs
that have smaller elements. Always ask first if you are not sure.
16. I
bought a design from Embroidery Library that was resized. Now I want to
get your split of the design. Can I do that?
No, you must
first buy the original size of the design from Embroidery Library in order to
get my split. If you want me to split the resized design, you will need to
contact me about this but it will be costly since I won't be able to sell that
split to anyone else.
