Tatting 81 - Free-Standing Christmas Tree Earring Tatting Designs by Murphy's Designs

Free-standing machine embroidery tatting Christmas tree earrings! I have them done in 2 sizes - a total of 8 in all. Complete instructions included. Some can be done with Mylar.

For 4x4 inch (100x100 mm) hoops and larger.

Completely free-standing tatting designs done in the machine embroidery hoop! Christmas trees that are earrings! I have them done in 2 sizes. They are done plain, with, star, with Mylar and done with hot fix crystals and metals. All tatting is completely free standing. The small size of the earrings are less than 2 inches tall without the star and about 2-1/4 inches with the star. The medium size of the earrings are about 1-1/3 inches tall without the star and about 1-3/4 inches with the star. Can be used as earrings, pendant or as an ornament. These are free-standing designs. EASY. I used a regular weight (40 wt.) embroidery thread for all designs shown in this set.
Click for a larger view.	I made this design so you can add hot fix crystals or hot fix metals in each of the ring sections. I used 20 SS (5 mm) for the "tree" part of these and a smaller 10 SS (~2.8 mm) crystal for the center of the star. The designs have some extra stitches to allow you to add the crystals or metals inside the rings in the tree. I made a free-standing star for these too. You can use metallic threads if you like. That is what I used for these two. This is the small size of the design with crystals. I put two of the tree earrings in each design for you. Complete instructions included.
Click for a larger view.	This one is the larger (medium) size of the tree earrings. I used a rayon thread for the star. I used hot fix metals (4 mm) for this one or you can use a 20 SS (5 mm) size of crystals to make them look very full or a 16 SS (4 mm) size to not be as big. I thought these looked like Christmas balls. I used a 10 SS(~2.8 mm) crystal for the center of the star on this one too. Complete instructions included.

Click for a larger view.	These are the medium size of the trees with Mylar. So EASY! Just stitch, rinse and dry flat. That is all there is to do it. You can add very tiny crystals to the spots where the rings join if you like. I think it would look good with just one in the center of each of the stars. These stars are done with metallic thread. Click for a larger view.	These are the 2 sizes of "plain" free-standing tatting Christmas trees. I did the one on the left with a metallic thread. You can add an ornament hanger for an instant ornament or add wires for earrings. They are small enough that they are very quick to stitch. Each of the Mylar and Star designs can be done as a plain version. Just skip the first and last color for the Mylar and the last color for the Stars. EASY!
